Contract

Upon approval for one of our puppies you will be sent a copy of our purchase agreement. Due to the intense personal information involved I am not publicly sharing the full contract; with that said I have included its major points:

Health

Remiem agrees that the puppy is free from any genetic defects, including hip or elbow dysplasia, eye defects, heart defects, and cancer, that will seriously affect the puppy’s quality of life for up to 24 months (2 years) from the puppy’s birth.

Registration

Seller shall register the puppy with the AKC before the time of delivery of the puppy at Sellers expense. Buyer will not change the puppy’s registration name without Seller’s prior written consent. Puppy will go home on AKC LIMITED registration and is NOT sold as a breeding prospect.

Male Puppies

Buyer agrees to keep the puppy separate from all intact females in heat starting at 4 months of age, at all times, until neuter or vasectomy is performed. Male puppies must be at least 24 months of age before being rendered infertile. Neutering by a licensed, reputable veterinarian is required before the puppy reaches 36 months of age.

Female Puppies

Buyer agrees to keep the puppy separate from all intact males for four (4) weeks during her heat cycle. This includes keeping the puppy fenced in and/or on a leash and monitored at all times while outside. Female puppies must be at least 23 months of age and allowed to fully complete two (2) heat cycles before being rendered infertile. Spaying by a licensed, reputable veterinarian is required before the puppy reaches 30 months of age to prevent occurrence of pyometra.

Prospect

Puppy is sold as a PET first and a PROSPECT second. Results and/or titles are not guaranteed. Puppy is not sold as a service dog, working potential is not guaranteed.

Microchip

Remiem shall remain registered on the microchip as secondary contact.

Return

If at any time during the puppy’s life Buyer finds that he or she is unable to care for or keep the puppy for any reason, Buyer agrees to immediately return the puppy to Seller at Buyer’s expense. Puppy IS NOT to be placed in a rescue or rehomed without Sellers express permission.

Additional requirements

Buyer agrees that the puppy shall be fed one of the following food brands in order for the guarantee to remain valid: Purina ProPlan, Royal Canin, Iams, Hills Science Diet, or Eukanuba. No grain-free varieties of any dog food brand should be fed to the puppy at any time. Buyer must ensure puppy is not allowed to become obese. Puppy is to have access to water and adequate shelter at all times.
